Timeline of Events

 

Sep 20, 2006 - Doris Worrell and Paola Yarberry were seen together in the family van before 9:40 a.m.
  - Jon Worrell left Doris and Paola at the park at approximately 9:40 a.m.
  - Jon Worrell was seen in town at a store at approximately 10:00 a.m.
  - Doris was killed between 9:40 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
  - Jon Worrell returned to the park at approximately 11:15 a.m. and found his wife dead
  - call made to 911 at approximately 11:17 a.m.
  - by 11:30 a.m., the scene of the crime was surrounded by law enforcement officers
Sep 22, 2006 - visitation held at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA
Sep 23, 2006 - funeral held in the First Baptist Church in Douglas; burial followed at Douglas City Cemetery
Sep 27, 2006 - Paola Yarberry attended an immigration hearing with ICE 
                          in Atlanta, GA
Oct 12, 2006 - Governor Sonny Perdue issued a reward for information leading
                         to the identification, arrest, and convict of the individual/s
                                      responsible for the murder of Doris Worrell
Oct 19, 2006 -Reward increased to $10,000
   
May 2 , 2007            - Paola Yarberry picked up by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
                                    agents in Douglas, GA
May 10, 2007           - Yarberry given an initial bond hearing in Atlanta, GA
Jun 16, 2007           - Yarberry hearing held in Atlanta, GA
Aug 2007                - Children withdrawn from school and relocate to Florida along with their father
Sep 20, 2007  - Memorial service held at the Roberta City Cemetery where a memorial marker is placed
Feb 2008          - immigration judge in Atlanta ordered Yarberry to be deported to her    
                                      home country of Venezuela
Mar 13, 2008       - Glidden Rodriguez and Brandon Cage arrested with warrants for conspiracy
                                       to commit murder in reference to the homicide of Doris Worrell
Jun 13, 2008 -Reward increased $20,000 by Spillers Family
Jun 13, 2008 -Billboard with reward information placed in Douglas, GA
Aug 2008            - Doris's widowed husband withdrew children from school and relocated to Central America
