The first anniversary of Doris' death will be September 20, 2oo7, two
days after
the day Doris would have celebrated her 4oth birthday. Her friends
and family
ask that you take time to remember Doris that week and perhaps do
something
special to keep her memory alive.
On noon EST,
Thursday, September 20, 2007, we ask that you pause for a moment
to say a prayer for Doris' murder to be solved. We also ask that
you pray for the
precious family that Doris left behind, especially her three young
children who were
the love of her life. Across the nation we can unite at the same
time to pray for Doris'
murder to be resolved. This is the time to release balloons, light
candles, or celebrate
her life in some other special way.
Some of the following ideas have been suggested by those who knew Doris
best:
-Light a candle, and say a prayer for Doris. Place a single
candle in your window to shine in memory of Doris.
-Wear purple, Doris' favorite color, on September 20.
-Wear your
purple memory band. If you need a band,
contact us, and we'll send one your way.
-Release
purple balloons that say "In Memory of Doris"
Be sure to put the
www.friendsofdoris.com address on
the balloons so those that find the balloons can log on
and read about the tragic death of our friend.
